1. Name
1.1 The name of the club shall be Kats Netball Club and will henceforth be referred to as ‘the club’.
2. Aims
2.1 To provide opportunities for females to play, coach and umpire the game of netball within a supportive club structure.
3. Membership
3.1 Membership of the club is open to all females who wish to affiliate to the club, the relevant League and
3.2 An annual membership form must be completed by every member every year.
3.3 All members must adhere to the Kats Netball Club Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct and Equity Policy Statement.
4. Club Subscriptions
4.1 An annual club membership fee, the annual affiliation fee to All England Netball Association Ltd (where mandatory) and a weekly subscription fee is required from all club members. The club’s committee will determine the annual and weekly club fees. AENA Ltd and East Essex Netball will determine the annual affiliation fee. The Club committee will collect the annual fees and the Team Managers will collect the weekly fees.
4.2 At the discretion of the committee club members who regularly fail to pay the required fees in a timely manner will not be permitted to take part in any activity within the Club. (Although individual circumstances will be taken into consideration upon application to Club committee)
4.3 The Organisation’s Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the Organisation.
4.4 Proper accounts shall be kept of all sums of money received and paid out by the Organisation.
4.5 The funds of the Organisation shall be lodged at a bank or building society in an account in the name of the Organisation, and all cheques, drafts etc. drawn on these accounts shall be signed by any two of the four nominated members of the Honorary Officers.
5. Honorary Officers
5.1 A Club management committee will conduct the Club’s administration and will consult with members when required.
5.2 The club management committee shall consist of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and any other positions deemed necessary.
5.3 Team Managers / Representatives will be appointed from willing volunteers on an annual basis after selection of teams / squads.
5.4 The club management committee will be appointed from willing volunteers appointed at the Annual General Meeting.
6. Committee meetings
6.1 The Annual General Meeting will take place in May each year.
6.2 The club management committee meetings will take place at least twice per year.
6.3 Team Managers / Representative meetings will take place at least twice per year, facilitated by at least two of the management committee.
7. Voting
7.1 This will take place for election of Club officials, changes to club constitution and any issue the club deem of importance.
7.2 Only affiliated club members are entitled to vote.
8. Indemnity
8.1 If the group dissolves, funds remaining in the accounts shall be returned to the funding body, after expenses incurred in dissolution.
8.2 The group against all costs shall indemnify all honorary officers, of the management committee and losses for which they may become liable by reason of duty performed for/or with the authority of the club committee.
We the Players, Coaches, Umpires and Team Managers agree:
If club members deem that any of the above are consistently disregarded, it will be reported to the committee who will assess and take the appropriate action.
This club is committed to ensuring that equity is incorporated across all aspect of its development. In doing so acknowledges and adopts the following Sport England definition of sports equity.
Sports equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society.
The club respects the rights, dignity, and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.
The club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in their environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.
All club members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.
The club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, according to the club disciplinary procedures.
Kats netball club is committed to promote the welfare, health and full development of young people. We aim to protect them from harm of all kinds, whilst recognising they have rights as individuals and should be treated with respect and dignity.
If you suspect a young person is being abused:
· Immediately tell your Child Protection Officer
· Record the facts as you now them and give a copy to your Child Protection Officer
· Ensure that the young person has access to an independent adult
· Ensure that no other situation arises which could form any further concern
If a young person discloses to you abuse by someone else:
· Allow the young person to speak without interruption, accepting what is said
· Alleviate feeling of guilt isolation, while passing no judgement
· Advise that you will try to offer support, but that you must pass the information on
· Same steps as 1-4 as in suspecting a young person is being abused
If you receive an allegation about any adult or about yourself:
· Immediately tell your Child Protection Officer
· Record the facts as you know them and give a copy to your Child Protection Officer
· Try to ensure that no one is placed in a position, which could cause further compromise.
